The Book Shuk is an independent and affordable platform that supports Jewish authors and provides exposure to an enthusiastic and supportive audience.
Our network is made up of professionals in the worldwide book industry, editors, publishers, booksellers, media personalities, community leaders, influential voices in the Jewish world, and beyond.
Recommendations and endorsements from this enthusiastic community can have a significant impact on attracting new readers or followers. It harnesses the power of honest and authentic reviews, which is often more effective than traditional advertising.
The Book Shuk is a project conceived and designed by the team at Singer Publicity, a leading PR agency for authors of works related to Jewish life and Israel. Singer Publicity has helped hundreds of authors market their books and establish themselves as leading voices in the Jewish world, and beyond.
The Book Shuk takes its inspiration from the bustling activity in Israel’s open-air markets, where farmers, artists, and creators showcase their fresh produce and goods.
The shuk is the central meeting place for all those who are curious and want to be the first to experience the newest harvests. They often discover unexpected treasures and can’t help but share their excitement with others, encouraging them to buy from those very vendors.
This platform, too, features the freshest fruits in the Jewish publishing world – new and forthcoming releases – along with previously-published titles that deserve another chance to be seen. It strives to be the meeting place – the open-air forum – where passionate authors share their voices with enthusiastic supporters.
We look forward to hosting exclusive online events where authors, readers, and professionals in the publishing industry will meet, share their expertise and inspiration, and help each other grow.
While The Book Shuk was conceived prior to the horrific events of October 7th, the sharp rise in antisemitism and blacklisting of Jewish authors confirmed the vital need to support these creators, amplify their voices, and provide a respectful space to showcase their latest masterpieces.
Additionally, there is now a dearth of media outlets that cover Jewish book news. Those that do typically showcase a particular niche, are extremely selective, and often slow to respond.
The Book Shuk seeks to fill this gap by being an umbrella site for all authors whose books relate to Jewish life and relate to Israel respectfully.
We welcome fiction and nonfiction titles related to Jewish life, culture, law, history, and/or Israel. See the list of accepted genres here.
